Helping people learn, create, and thrive
Empathy FX International expands access to education, well-being, and creative opportunity. Through community partnerships and direct support, we help people overcome barriers to learning, creating, and thriving.
Our work connects three areas: Education & Opportunity, Health & Dignity, and Arts & Culture. Today, our initiatives support communities in Ghana and artists in Taiwan.

Humble Leadership
We are not afraid to be wrong. Here at Empathy FX, problem-solving comes before pride - we adapt to new challenges and often let go of old ways.
Listening before acting
People understand their own communities best. We listen to their priorities and work together to shape practical support that respects local knowledge, dignity, and aspirations.
Learning together
Partnership is an exchange of knowledge and experience. We approach each initiative with curiosity, respect, and a willingness to learn from the people whose lives and work it supports.

Beginning with a school in Ghana
In 2009, co-founder Nana Aggrey Fynn learned of a village in Ghana that needed a school and invited Rosemary Hua DeAragon to help build it. That partnership became Empathy FX International.
Our commitment to education in Ghana continues through schools, technology resources, teacher housing, and community initiatives. Our work grows through relationships with people who understand the communities they serve.
Growing through creativity in Taiwan
In 2026, our work also includes an Arts & Music Grant for artists in need in Taiwan. Our 2026 recipient, Vincent Liu, is a composer and musician based in Taoyuan.
The needs differ across communities, but our purpose remains connected: helping people overcome barriers to learning, creating, and thriving. Support for a student’s education and an artist’s creative work can both strengthen the cultural and social life of a community.
What Empathy FX means
Our name echoes “Empathy Affects”: the belief that understanding another person’s experience can inspire meaningful action. We bring that belief to every partnership, in Ghana, Taiwan, and wherever our work grows next.
